    This particular N97 seems to be the only one that says it has WifI, Skype, AND GoogleMaps. Can someone verify that all that works out-of -the-box (OOTB)?

    Note that the White one's product description (in "Others") DOESN'T match the Brown one's. The white one doesn't mention Skype, GoogleMaps, etc. That what got me worried; I guess GoogleMaps will just use the browser... but my main concern is the skype app. I really need that function. I assume there is a separate app for skype?

    we are sorry. Much thanks for your questions. the tianxing N97 cellphones share the same functions. the white one didn't write the full functions. it is our carelessness. we have corrected it now. what your concerned function like Skype app is include. You can enjoy those functions.

    OK, my N97 arrive fast and safely, so thank you. However the problem I'm having is with the Java applications connecting to the internet using the wifi:
    There is NO sim cards in the phone, so I only used the wifi with my router connected to the internet modem.

    I CAN connect to the wifi with no problem and get good signal strength. I CAN view internet web pages using the default browser (Services >>> WAP >>>Input Address, etc)

    Any other Java Application (Google Map, eBuddy, Opera, Snaptu Facebook, Nimbuzz) ALL give an error about cannot connect to the network or No working network connection detected.

    I don't see any way to fix that condition in any of the settings, including in Java >>> Java Settings. The manual that came with phone talks about additional options that do not show in my phone.

    Have you tried with a sim card. coz without sim card, normally, some applications like java will not be available. Could you please have a try with a sim card again if you won't. thanks
