Pros: Remarkably intricate designs on the metal surfaces. The clock face can be seen without opening the watch's lid. Comes with a nice brass chain (78 cm length, matching colour) that can be re-appropriated for other purposes, if you want. Sturdy construction; I can't make the metal bend with the force of my fingers. The clock keeps time accurately, as far as I can tell.

Cons: The clock has no obvious way to set the time, so it seems that most people will be stuck with the default time. (Do the ChinaBuye staff set the time on these before shipping them?) The way the lid is designed makes the watch inconvenient as a necklace-type watch, but it's fine enough for use as a pocket watch.

Bottomline: If you want a beautiful display piece, this is an excellent choice. If you just want a watch, there might be better options, even in this price range.

*** To new users: You have to press down the knob above the horizontal dial at the top of the watch to open the lid. Hold it down and then you can open the lid with a finger.
I could not figure out any function for the horizontal dial. Would have been really nice if the dial was tighter and adjusted the time - that would have been perfect. (Posted on 1/21/12)
