Do you mean the following:
1) if you power the alarm clock by adapter, the light will automatically turn of after a few seconds unless you press it again?
2)or it will not last long if you switch the light constantly on when you run the device on battery>
3) something else

I mean the light would not be on long time, if you want to see the time, you need press the switch. -
